Hi Susannah. I approved your request, and I'm here to help.
Please share with me any information and details you have about a redesign for the things you mentioned (main page, background, infoboxes, and possibly logo), and I'll get started when I return to work on Monday.
We've been talking about the redesign of this Wiki to make it more attractive for visitors. I think logo is OK. I asked my friend to design a background - we'll see what she has to offer.
We really need to change our templates. They are the original ones from the time when this Wiki was founded and only the colour was changed (from blue to green). We created new templates using and modifying the code from the other templates. However, it is not in our abilities to change them. I visited at least a hundred of different Wikis in order to find an inspiration. I really like the design they use on Harry Potter Wiki (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Hermione_Granger) and Firefly Wiki (http://firefly.wikia.com/wiki/Simon_Tam). We would like to have templates like this, however, in green and white to match the colours of our Wiki. I hope it is possible.
Thank you so much! It's really beautiful! The only thing I'd like to change... well, I would choose different shades of green so they would match more. But that's just a detail and I really appreciate your hard work.
The darker green used for the character's name is the same green on the navigation menu. The reason I chose a light shade of green for the subheadings is because the "Biographical information" section touches the name section, and because the infobox I was copying also used a lighter shade for subheadings.
That said, the colors can be changed easily. If you want to try a different shade of green for the subheadings, feel free to give me the HTML color code you'd like to try. You can use this color picker to choose a shade and get its HTML code.
I understand why you picked the lighter shade, after all that's the way they use it on other Wikis.
I tried to find a better-suiting shade and #33AD33 was the only one that was quite good. It's really hard to pick a lighter shade that would look good with the navigation-menu-green. Of course, we can also change the navigation-menu colour and pick the one that would look good with lighter shades. I'm not sure that's only my decision to make - I want to know Susannah's opinion.
Just so that you and Susannah have something to look at and compare, here's a screenshot of how the infobox looks with #33AD33 for the subheading background color and white as the text color. Take as much time as you need to decide. Once the new infobox is ready, I'll transfer it to the real character infobox.
In the meantime, let me know if there is anything else you need me to help with.
