Terence "Terry" Garland was the husband of Hazel Marr and a former friend of Anne Shirley.

Terry was born sometimes during early 1860s in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, to Mr. and Mrs. Garland. He was raised there along with his sister and attended school at the age of six. Terry probably attended also Summerside High School. When Anne Shirley came to Summerside, he became her friend.
