"I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I've never been able to believe it. I don't believe a rose would be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk-cabbage."
This article is about Kenneth and Rilla Ford's daughter. You may be looking for her mother, Rilla Blythe, or Matthew Cuthbert's sister, Marilla Cuthbert.

Rilla Ford was the daughter of Rilla and Kenneth Ford, the sister of Gilbert Ford and the granddaughter of Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe.

Biography

Rilla was most likely born in the early 1920s to Rilla and Kenneth Ford. She was raised along with her brother Gilbert and spent her childhood years playing in Glen St. Mary with her relatives and the children from the neighbourhood, namely Jem, Walter and Anne Blythe, Diana Meredith, Susette King, Jack Bell, Dick, Letty and Jerry Thornton. Rilla and her relatives hated Dick as he was mean both to people and animals.[1]

Years later, Jerry met Susette in Glen St. Mary and remembered Rilla's famous smile. He also said that by the late 1940s, most of their contemporaries had gotten married, which possibly included Rilla.[2]
