Malcolm MacEwan was the husband of Abigail Ward, and the adoptive father of Lucky.

Biography

Malcolm pursued Abigail Ward with the intention of marriage, but Abigail's father rejected him due to his financial status.

After striking gold in the Yukon, he returned to Avonlea. He and Abigail ended up in an argument but she eventually accepted his proposal. The two of them got married, adopted Lucky and moved to the Yukon.

Etymology

Malcolm comes from Scottish Gaelic Máel Coluim, which means "disciple of Saint Columba".

• Malcolm Stoddard portrayed Malcolm MacEwan in Season 1 of Road to Avonlea (1990–1996).
