EtymologyEdit

The Lake of Shining Waters was named by Anne Shirley, on the way home from the station in Bright River where she had arrived. When Matthew Cuthbert told her it was called Barry's Pond, she refused to refer to it by such a sensible name. Anne closed her eyes and clasped her hands, and the name Lake of Shining Waters was born.
