In September 1872, Kenneth most likely attended Four Winds school.
Kenneth died in 1874 when he was eight years old. He fell out of a loud of hay right as the waggon was going into the barn. The wheel ran over him and crushed him. Leslie saw it from the barn loft, jumped down, and held her dead brother's body.
Kenneth was buried in the graveyard over the harbour and his death affected Leslie and the rest of his family horribly. Two years later his father hung himself and they buried him next to Kenneth at Four Winds graveyard.
Kenneth is a male given name of Irish and Gaelic origin and means fire born or good looking.
