Avonlea was a village in Prince Edward Island where Anne Shirley lived after being adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert.

History

Residents

Avonlea wasn't a big village. In 1870s and 1880s, there were about three hundred people living there. Pyes and Sloanes were the biggest clans. Also, the White, Wright, Andrews, Bell, and Gillis families had many members.
