This page is considered an official policy on Anne of Green Gables Wiki. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that everyone should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the forum to propose changes to this policy.

The title for this page is rule of inclusion, not rules, because there really is only one rule. No article should be about a subject more than one degree of separation from Anne of Green Gables.

Confused? Don't be. It's really simple. See, the topics on this wiki are either about the Anne of Green Gables series or an adaptation, or about something related to or deriving from the books or adaptations. For the sake of this explanation, let's call everything that is the series or an adaptation a Level 1 topic, while everything directly related is a Level 2 topic.

Here are some examples of Level 1 and Level 2 topics. Please note that these lists are not comprehensive.

Level 1 topics:

Level 2 topics:

Following this scheme, this means that there are also Level 3 topics. We don't include these on the wiki, but here are some examples for reference. Level 3 items are only items that have no direct link to Anne of Green Gables.

Level 3 topics:

  • D. W. Griffith (director of Hearts of the World)
  • Reign (a TV series Megan Follows stars in)
  • Kindred Spirit (a biography of LMM)

Remember, if you have any questions, ask on Kindred Spirits or an admin's message wall.
