Anne Shirley's engagement ring was worn by her for three years. It was a circlet of pearls and was given to her by her fiancé, Gilbert Blythe.

Behind the scenesEdit

  • Although Anne herself said that she disliked diamonds, she knew that they were very valuable and would admire them not because of how they looked, but because of their value. One instance of this was at the hotel concert, when she was admiring the rich lady's diamond necklace.
  • Katherine Brooke, a fellow schoolteacher who was slightly jealous, said Anne was "flaunting her circlet of pearls."
